Newly Faceted or Newly Photographed Gemstones: 

We anticipate perhaps a few newly arriving gemstones to be available on our website in mid-February and noted in our March Monthly Email.

Nothing currently newly photographed, but we do have many gemstones not photographed and available in our inventory and described in our Inventory Texts list for those who wish to peruse those lists.  Though many of the gemstones listed there might be photographed, there may be even more that are not photographed!

Gemstones in Cutting:  

Nothing new in cutting.  We might be selling our existing and last rough to the trade/cutters or perhaps cutting some of it and releasing it at ridiculously low prices – but then again, our prices are a fraction of retail prices seen out there. 

With the exception of one piece of rough, our Blue Flash Amethyst will not be replaced when the last has been sold.   Not only is this material not being found, but the price has increased like many other rough and faceted gemstones, not to mention the cost of fine cutting.  Other than one piece of this Blue Flash Amethyst Rough, we no longer have any more of this material. 

There is very little new rough presently in our inventory in general and we already have representations faceted from that rough, including:  Blue Flash Amethyst, Blended Ametrine, Tourmaline, Color Change Diaspore, Yellow Beryl, Color Change Garnet, Umbalite and Rhodolite Garnet, Oregon Sunstone, Synthetic Alexandrite and others….

 

Off to the Tucson Show:

It is that time of the year again, and we will be off to the World Famous Tucson Gem and Mineral Show shortly – it is about our 40^th year of attendance.  It was started back in 1955 and there are currently about 50 shows that will open and close during approximately a full month between about mid-January and mid-February, with over 4000 exhibitors and 65,000 attendees.  It certainly is an event, and unfortunately, at this time of the year, one can expect to encounter unexpected and undesirable things, such as colds, flu, RSV, covid and any other virus circulating at this time of the year and from anywhere in the world as it is attended by exhibitors and attendees from essentially every country in the world, especially if fossils, minerals, gems and other natural products are to be found in that country.
