Newly Faceted or Newly Photographed Gemstones:

Though we noted that we had two new Ametrines back from our specialty cutter, it wasn’t noted until we were creating this email for our customers, that we noticed we had never loaded up the two associated videos for these pieces!  We corrected this recently and now they made be viewed on our Newly Photographed page.  Our cutter put large culets on the bottom of these two gemstones, making them appear to have been cut back in about the 1920s, an old fashioned faceting design that diamonds were faceted in and is a trade mark of the cutter Jean Noel Soni cutting style.  He has quite a following in this style of cutting and larger gemstones can be produced; just another cutting style which we have never done before but our cutter decided on this as the rough was on the shallow side.

Gemstones in Cutting:

With the exception of one piece of rough, our Blue Flash Amethyst will not be replaced when the last has been sold.   Not only is this material not being found, but the price has gone increased like many other rough and faceted gemstones, not to mention the cost of fine cutting.  Other than one piece of this Blue Flash Amethyst Rough, we no longer have any more of this material.

Recently back from Cutting!  View 25 newly photographed gemstones from our rough in the very near future – this includes:

Ametrine, High Quality Oregon Sunstone (large ones too!), 7 pieces of Blue Flash Amethyst (the last of our rough and it is no longer available to obtain from this locality), Lab Grown Alexandrite, LuAl Garnet (Lab), and two pieces of Brandy Colored Ukrainian Topaz.  We are very excited about this Topaz because the color is special.  These pieces come from a famous deposit where the Topaz can grow as a Bi-Color Topaz – naturally occurring light Blue Topaz and this unique Brandy Color together in one crystal.  You can sometimes see this on the market faceted as bi-color gemstones, but in order to have decent color saturation, they typically have to be larger gems.  Very interesting color and locality and a collectors gem for those in the know; or for those who don’t know about this deposit and these gems, one will see a beautiful brilliant brandy colored Topaz!  In the case of these pieces, the rough was trimmed from the brandy colored section of the rough and might not have had any light blue at all in the rough; perhaps the blue part if it existed, had inclusions.  (These two Topazes are this Month’s Special – now is the time to save $$$ on these two items – this is also the last of this unique gemstone material that we will have.)

There is very little new rough presently and we already have representations faceted from that rough, including:  Blue Flash Amethyst, Blended Ametrine, Tourmaline, Color Change Diaspore, Yellow Beryl, Color Change Garnet, Umbalite and Rhodolite Garnet, Oregon Sunstone, Synthetic Alexandrite and others….

What Has All That Glitters Been Involved in Recently?:

Unfortunately, we had an issue for a bit of time for those people attempting to access our website via smart phones and perhaps even tablets, laptops, etc.  Email was also down for a few days, so any emails sent to us from our website pages or directly, would have been returned as undeliverable.  This issue has been corrected.

Will we be slowing down in the faceting of any rough we have as our inventory is quite large and we would like to find a buyer or auction house who would be interested in some of our inventory.  We do well with our material at auction, as we frequently obtain selling prices 2x to 4x what we ask on our website…

All That Glitters Jewelers Showcase!
