Anticipated New Items to Be Photographed:

Next month, mid to late February, we hope to have a number of new items added to the All That Glitters Collection, including about 15 gemstones that were partially faceted and started in the All Glitters Office.  There are so many gemstones in the ATG Collection with only a few actually appearing on our website!  Total loose gemstones is approximately 5000, and that doesn’t include rough, mineral specimens or trade/mineral/gemstone ‘related’ items!

Newly Faceted or Newly Photographed Gemstones:

Two wonderful estate pieces were purchased:

A Heavy 14kt gold (1/2+ troy ounce) set with an approx 8-9ct Checkerboard Cushion Cut Purple/Blue Tanzanite, with approx 42pts of Diamonds, size 7.  Could be a woman’s or man’s ring.  Save over $10k off the estimated retail price!

The other piece is a GIA Certified and Laser Inscribed 1.06ct, Modified Brilliant Diamond of J Color, set in a 14kt gold engagement ring with numerous diamonds (approx 3/4cts) and with a matching wedding band with diamonds.  Approx a size 5.  You are really purchasing the main diamond and you can reset it, redesign it or wear it as is.

We have done attempted to rephotograph some fine gemstones, and also created a few associated videos.  There are a large number of photos taken with older cameras which are outdated, but there are so many and it does take a considerable amount of time to do photography correctly, that there is just not enough time.  A few gemstones have been updated with respect to text, photos and videos and they include:

Just under 3ct Precious Topaz from Ouro Preto – Exactly where you want your Topaz to originate; and an 8x10 easily set into jewelry!

Fancy Cut Green Tanzanite Faceted by an Award Winning Cutter – his work is in museums!

Our Largest Tanzanite - a 24.97ct Certed Deep Glowing Blue Oval (believe to be UNHEATED!)

10+ct Neon (Paraiba-Like) Blue Apatite

An 11.70ct Blue Flash Congo Amethyst was completed – a deep rich purple with some Blue Flashes depending on available lights.  This piece was faceted by the owner of All That Glitters – two other previously faceted gems include a Fancy Oval Lab Grown Alexandrite, weighing  26.50ct  and a nice 17+ct  Oval Chrome YAG.

A Tsavorite Oval is up for sale after about 37 years – it was in a heavy custom created ring for the owner of All That Glitters, and the ring was melted down a short time ago.

Gemstones in Cutting:

On the dop currently in the All That Glitters office for cutting, a Blue Flash Amethyst which will be a similar shape that some people have seen in a Clear Danburite we faceted in the past.  Due to numerous sales and activities in the All That Glitters Office, no work has been done on this Amethyst recently.

We have sent a number of unfinished gemstones started in the All That Glitters Office to be completed by one of our cutters – this includes Amethyst, Sunstone, Neon YAG, Ametrine, Color Shifting Garnet and Lab Alexandrite.   We will photograph these and offer them for sale in the future upon their return.  Hope to have them back in about a month.

There is very little new rough presently and we already have representations faceted from that rough, including:  Blue Flash Amethyst, Blended Ametrine, Tourmaline, Color Change Diaspore, Yellow Beryl, Color Change Garnet, Umbalite and Rhodolite Garnet, Oregon Sunstone, Synthetic Alexandrite and others….

What Has All That Glitters Been Involved in Recently?:

A much awaited Pink Tanzanite, also called Pink Zoisite (actual mineral name for Tanzanite) or Fancy Tanzanite, has finally been received.  This is a gem that the owner of All That Glitters had seen some time ago, as it was part of an important lecture on Fancy Tanzanite, with pink being noted as the rarest color and how limited the availability is.  This arrived just before the holiday and is currently in the mail to the new owner as this email is being written.

We are attempting to insure that the newly obtained GIA Certed Diamond Engagement/Wedding Band as well as the very heavy large Tanzanite ring is photographed and appears for sale for those who might be interested.

A Tourmaline/Diamond ring purchased back in the 1980s, flew out of the All That Glitters inventory after it was seen in person by one of our customers whom we have worked with creating jewelry for approx 35+ years.

All That Glitters met with a customer from approx 15-20 years ago, originally introduced when the owner of All That Glitters was teaching a course called The World of Gemstones, shortly after the TV Show of the same name was created by L. Allen Brown/All That Glitters.   She viewed 8 fine Sapphires and chose the pink emerald/radiant cut, which was Certed by GIA – this is a borderline

Ruby, as there is sufficient red in the body color to be declared a Ruby in Europe and Asia.

The Ouro Preto Yellow/Gold Topaz Pendant with a solitary diamond was delivered to the customer who had been waiting for a Topaz

Pendant for many years.  She was thrilled to finally possess something that was sought for years.

The customer designed ring noted last month using the All That Glitters Jewelers Showcase link, was completed and this consisted of a round lab grown Alexandrite (faceted by the owner of All That Glitters), set in Rose gold where the accent gemstones were Moonstone!

You can see photos of the Topaz Pendant (we have a similar oval should anyone wish a ring or pendant with a nice 8x10mm oval Topaz!) as well as the Alex/Moonstone/Rose Gold ring on our Newly Photographed page:
