Here
are the changes to look for on the All That Glitters Website for July 2015:
This Month's Special: Two
Specials This Month!
1.) We have looked at our Carved/Sculpted Oregon
Sunstone (14+cts). It seems the price
per carat was calculated
using
the wholesale reference, The Guide(2010), but the price was for faceted gems
that typically loose 80% of their weight during the faceting process. The recovery for carvings is higher. We have looked at the cost of cutting, the
cost of the rough and have re-priced this unusual gemstone accordingly. Therefore the price has changed dramatically!
2.) We are offering our first Customer Appreciation Discount for the month
of July - to those customers who have made purchases from January 1st of this
year to June 27th. We will credit 5%
back to those previously purchasing customers on their new July purchases, if
they made a purchase from All That Glitters during the time frame noted
above. Credit will be given upon receipt
and acceptance of the purchase.
This Month's Gem News: All
That Glitters Shows the Savings to our Diamond Customers
We
were contacted recently regarding a 3.03ct VSI/G Emerald Cut EGL Certed Diamond
found using our Diamond Search Engine. Besides requesting the cert, she
was questioning why the price was so low as in other places she sought a
similar diamond, they were approximately $10,000 more. Yes, $10,000 more… We explain how All That Glitters offers value
and low pricing on our Certed GIA and EGL(USA) Diamonds!....

L. Allen Brown/All That Glitters Photos and Comments Appear on
Trade Website!:
Distinguishing
between Rubies and Pink Sapphires (International Gem Society Article) displays
photos
from the All That Glitters Website and quotes All That Glitters Owner (L. Allen
Brown) in this
article
that notes the history of differentiating Ruby from Sapphire.
More All That Glitters Gemstones Studied at GIA:
We
have another 5 or so items currently within GIA being studied with the
possibility of their publication in Gems and Gemology Magazine in the
future. GIA's Robert Weldon took the photos during the recent Tucson
Show. The items were taken back to GIA Carlsbad for study.
We
will keep our customers informed as we obtain more information in the future…
(Unfortunately,
GIA is known for taking up to 8 months to return gemstones and up to a year or
so before the information obtained from those gemstones/photos taken, appear in
Gems & Gemology Magazine!)
Gemstones in Cutting:
One
Color Changing Diaspores is being Concave faceted, and two others will be
carved/sculpted.
A
90+ct Deeply Colored Ametrine is also being carved/sculpted.
The
above 4 gemstones are being faceted/carved by another award winning cutter.
Our
hopes of increasing our Opal inventory with large fine quality Opals have been
dashed. After removing the mud/matrix from what seemed to be outstanding
Opal, we were left with smaller pieces after trimming out issues, grinding down
areas, etc. This represents a loss of thousands of dollars, but this is
the risk when one purchases rough material - as one is never sure of the
outcome. We will be attempting to cab a few items from the above noted
rough pieces sometime in the future.
Welcome to Our New Customers from the Following Countries:
Singapore;
Australia and the United Kingdom/Denmark.
