All That Glitters Website and Info Changes for December 2012!

Happy New Year to Everyone!

Another year has flown by.   We are celebrating our 32nd year in the gemstone trade!  We hope that the holidays have been good to all.

Here are the changes to look for on the All That Glitters Website for January 2013:

This Month's Special:   Recently Published Opal Currently Seen Online
Another of our gemstones has been published, possibly bringing the total number of published gemstones to about 60 or more!  This is unprecedented for one business to have so many gemstones appearing in newspapers, magazines, books, trade publications, etc.   Our most recently published gemstone appears on line on the Gemewizard website where the Play Of Color for an All That Glitters Opal was discussed.  You may find the photo, article and analysis on the following page:

This Month's Gem News:   Unraveling an Opal's Play of Color!
This Month's Gem News is All That Glitters' Related…  Gemewizard has contacted us for the third time to study one of the All That Glitters' gemstones for their monthly discussion on color.  We will be meeting with this Israeli-based company in Tucson, where we will show them other gemstones from our inventory for future articles!

Newly Faceted or Photographed Gemstones:
Currently there are no newly photographed gemstones, though we anticipate a few over the next few months.

Gemstones in Cutting:
There are no gemstones currently in cutting with the exception of a few custom faceted Synthetic Alexandrites that are already spoken for; the customer resides in Australia and requested a cutting design he had seen on line!

All That Glitters in the News!!!

Auction House to sell All That Glitters' Alexandrite?:
The incredible 2.07ct Natural Certed Alexandrite in inventory is under discussion with a well-known auction house on the West Coast as a potential item in an upcoming auction.   This may be set into an 18kt white gold mounting with diamonds, and would then be scheduled for display in Los Angeles, Paris and Hong Kong prior to sale.  We estimate that sale price could be over $40K, especially after being viewed in various parts of the world where phenomenal gemstones attract more attention!

News from Abroad:
Prices of gemstones continue to climb and mining is increasing, saving many mines that had closed or scaled back over the past several years due to the costs of mining and the world economy.  However, with renewed interest from Brasil and China, as well as other countries, it is now economically feasible to continue to mine as prices of gemstones firm up and rise.
