All That Glitters is “Roughing” It In Oregon:
We return to the High Deserts of Oregon in search of Oregon Sunstone Rough – we know all the major players with claims in that area and this will be our 6th trip into the heat, dust devils, flat tires, snakes and more.  We do stay in a trailer if at all possible, but there is typically no electricity, no bathroom, no heat, no running water.  Meals are dehydrated backpackers food where you add boiling water.  Sand gets into every bit of clothing, cracks in the car, etc. and all needs washing when returning to civilization.  The closest town that has most needs is 1.5 hours away.  There is one small town that one passes through where one might get gas or a hamburger, population of approx. 100, but that is it – some towns in the area that one drives through has a population listed of only 30 or so people!  You really have to love the gem business or solitude to make this trek – for some, once is enough…  Will update in our July Monthly Email as to whether we found anything of value or purchased rough from our friends/associates – but one thing has been certain previously, the time and money spent on a few days trip will not be typically compensated if any rough is faceted and offered for sale.

Newly Faceted or Newly Photographed Gemstones:

After literally a 3 year wait, two large important Oregon Sunstones have been returned to us from one of our specialty cutters.  It was June of 2018 when two approx. 100ct pieces of Oregon Sunstone rough were sent to a multi-award winning cutter (DH).  As two pieces done by this cutter in the past were returned about 6 months after being received, we expected the same timeframe and that is what was conveyed to us.  That timeframe stretched into 2.5 years; he stated numerous times that he would start them soon – but that never happened and we requested them returned in November of 2020.  We sent these two pieces to a very capable cutter who studied under the previous cutter noted – and in 6 months, we finally had the results!  After a three year wait, we have two Oregon Sunstones which weigh almost 40cts each – a 35+ct Elongated Cushion with sharp corners, of a coppery orange color with some schiller and a 38+ct Equilateral-Looking Triangular piece which glitters/sparkles in all directions and is of a light yellow color.  Both are hand grooved vs. flat faceted.  Priced WAY BELOW Wholesale.  This price will remain until July 1st.  Considering the size, the workmanship, the aesthetically pleasing shapes and the wholesale price list for Oregon Sunstone that we consulted (a 2016 copy), we have it well below 50% of the expected wholesale price…
L. Allen Brown, owner of All That Glitters, has been working on an Blended Oval Ametrine – after about a month, it has come off the dop and was posted previously - an 11.63ct Fancy Oval, Predominately Purple, but with flashes of Yellow as well as Bronze!
A Wonderful 24.38ct Fancy Oval Ametrine was finished by the owner of All That Glitters last month – total time to facet was just under 40 hours; the results are fantastic – check out the photo and video.
New Photo/Vid of Large Neon Green Grossular Garnet as well as a Ruby photographed and offered for the first time discovered in our vaults after 25 years!
11.45ct Blended Ametrine Specialty Pear – ATG In House Cutting!
18.30ct Blended Ametrine Fan – ATG In House Cutting!
Three Hand Grooved Oregon Sunstones are back from one of our cutters who performs magic!  Shapes include a Unique
Octagon, Spear Point and a large Emerald Cut which is the largest faceted Oregon Sunstone we have had in 40 years!
A 12+ct Synthetic Alexandrite Round has been cut by the owner of All That Glitters, as well as two Large Clear Danburites - as usual, selling at or below the wholesale cost.  (ATG In House Cutting!)

Gemstones in Cutting:
There are no items in cutting at the present time.  It is hoped that cutting will begin in our office in July – and expect perhaps a few more Ametrine and Blue Flash Amethyst to be faceted.  Perhaps some Oregon Sunstone if we are lucky enough to have purchased some fine rough or perhaps IF we found some of value during our Oregon dig!  There is very little new rough presently and we already have representations faceted from that rough, including:  Blue Flash Amethyst, Blended Ametrine, Tourmaline, Color Change Diaspore, Yellow Beryl, Color Change Garnet, Umbalite and Rhodolite Garnet, Synthetic Alexandrite and others….
