Here are the changes to look for on the All
That Glitters Website for March 2015:

This Month's Gem News: Gemfields Bets on Gemstone Market’s Growth
Though the trade/public have seen the prices on
fine gemstones (and gemstones in general) increase dramatically over the past
few years, in talking to dealers in Tucson, L. Allen Brown, the owner of All
That Glitters, would have to agree with them with respect to the major reason. As the world's population of the middle class
grows, the demand for colored gemstones and jewelry has been increasing. With that demand, prices on available items
has and will, increase. It is the old
expression one has heard in the past - Supply and Demand. The general consensus is that this is not
going to end or even slow down soon.
This demand for color is re-inforced by the both the title and the
article by GIA which is March's Monthly News….
"In late November 2014, Gemfields unveiled
a 40.23 ct ruby it had just unearthed from its Montepuez ruby deposit in
Mozambique. The discovery made headlines, the kind usually reserved for large
diamonds…"

More All That Glitters Gemstones Studied at GIA:
We have another 5 or so items currently within
GIA being studied with the possibility of their publication in Gems and
Gemology Magazine in the future. GIA's
Robert Weldon took the photos during the recent Tucson Show. The items were taken back to GIA Carlsbad for
study.
We will keep our customers informed as we
obtain more information in the future…
Gemstones in Cutting:
Our hopes of increasing our Opal inventory with
large fine quality Opals have been dashed.
After removing the mud/matrix from what seemed to be outstanding Opal,
we were left with smaller pieces after trimming out issues, grinding down
areas, etc. This represents a loss of
thousands of dollars, but this is the risk when one purchases rough material -
as one is never sure what the final outcome will be…
Still More Customers from Australia Find All That Glitters in
the Month of February!:
We have been selling and shipping gemstones to
Australia for decades now, but there has been a large number of newly added
customers from Australia over the past month.
As a reminder, gemstones of high value will be shipped by FedEx and
insured in full via a third party.
Smaller valued items can be shipped via USPS with limited
insurance. Gemstones of high value will
require a wire (bank to bank) transfer of funds, similar to what is also
required for similar sales in the US and other countries. We believe that our most recent sale of a large unheated GIA certed
Sapphire saved our Australian customer many thousands of dollars off the
expected wholesale price of this gemstone and far more when one considers what
the markup would have been on the retail level… Welcome to all those new customers from
Australia!
