All That Glitters Website and Info Changes for February 2015!
Greetings
from the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show! We
have been attending this show for almost 30 years; our last exhibition date was
approximately 2000. Our expeditions
abroad began in the early 80s and we found it best to visit the show to see our
associates and friends vs. selling in Tucson since we sell to many dealers who
do display here and with our low pricing (since we purchase as close to the source
as possible) many dealers wouldn't appreciate our presence/pricing… We have been requested to visit the GIA Both to show the staff a
few more interesting gems/gem related items.
Perhaps more of our existing inventory will be studied and published in
the future!
Here are the changes to look for on the All That Glitters Website for
February 2015:
This Month's
Special: All That Glitters Rainbow Scapolite (Will Appear in
Gems/Gemology Mag!)
This Month's Gem
News: GIA Studies/Publishes Another All That Glitters Gemstone!
Another unique gemstone
from the All That Glitters Inventory has been studied by The Gemological
Institute of America and it will appear in the Spring 2015 Edition! We first noted that we had sent the gemstone
to GIA about 8 months ago, and we have just heard that their studies will be
published shortly in their prestigious magazine. This gemstone is also "This Month's
Special", and is being offered at its Initial Public Offering. We have seen two larger gemstones (500-600cts
approx) with a price tag of $15,000 to $20,000.
We hope to have a few more of these gemstones in wearable/collectible
sizes (vs. the paperweight noted above).
Since these other pieces haven't appeared in a magazine and are
unpublished, their value will be less.
Many people enjoy owning a gemstone or item that has appeared in
articles and this would be a great opportunity.
Newly Faceted or
Photographed Gemstones:
One of our Orangy Pink
Sapphires was just Certed by GIA as the coveted variety of Sapphire -
Padparadscha. We have others that we
feel would cert as Pads, but haven't sent them in for certs.
Just in - a wonderfully
large 61+ct Quartz showing both Goethite, Hematite(beetle legs), zoning and
distinct crystal grown patterns. This
piece has all the interesting features that Quartz can have and will be shown
to the GIA Lab while we are in Tucson.
Perhaps it will be studied and published in Gems and Gemology Magazine
as some of our other gemstones have been in the past. If interested, send us an email for a
price. (Price subject to change if to be
Published)
We anticipate a number
of fine gemstones and interesting related items in approximately available by
mid-February.
Gemstones in Cutting:
Our hopes of increasing
our Opal inventory with large fine quality Opals have been dashed. After
removing the mud/matrix from what seemed to be outstanding Opal, we were left
with smaller pieces after trimming out issues, grinding down areas, etc.
This represents a loss of thousands of dollars, but this is the risk when one
purchases rough material - as one is never sure what the final outcome will be…
Welcome to Our Many New
Customers in Australia:
We have been selling and
shipping gemstones to Australia for decades now, but there has been a large
number of newly added customers from Australia over the past month. As a reminder, gemstones of high value will
be shipped by FedEx and insured in full via a third party. Smaller valued items can be shipped via USPS
with limited insurance. Gemstones of
high value will require a wire (bank to bank) transfer of funds, similar to
what is also required for similar sales in the US and other countries.
Welcome to all those new
customers from Australia!
