All That Glitters Monthly Info and Website Changes for November 2010

Latest All That Glitters Website News for November 2010 includes the following:

This Months Special: Nice Yelllow 11.76ct Opal from Brasil with Dentritic Incusions
This unique piece shows perfect symmetry displaying the lacy fern-like growth of the dentrites. Super for a pendant or a collects piece - wouldn't make a bad ring either!

This Months Gem News: Two Interesting Articles in Gems and Gemology, Summer 2010 Issue!
The Wittlesbach-Graff and Hope Diamonds: Not Cut from the Same Rough
Play-of-Color Opal from Wegel Tena, Wollo Province, Ethiopia

Newly Faceted or Photographed Gemstones:
We have posted the Dendritic Watermelon Tourmaline Slice that was featured in last months Gem News. GIA and one of THE authorities of Inclusions within Gemstones, have never heard of this occurring previously. Though everyone agrees that the conditions could occur for dendritic formation, an example has never been found until now. All That Glitters has what could be the first known piece of Dendritic Tourmaline and it is also a Watermelon Tourmaline! Now offered for sale...
A 56.35ct Tourmaline Slice of Clear, Various Greens and Black - mercedes symbol internally? Possible, this came from the country known for this - Madagascar.
An incredible multi-colored Tourmaline Slice of pink, orange, green and more! This is a whopping 90+ct piece. We haven't seen anything like this before in the past either!
Two small specimens of Demantoid Garnet from the relatively new Madagascar strike!
Nothing currently in the faceting process. We are considering having some of our Ethiopian Opal fashioned, as well as our Synthetic Alexandrite faceted in our Custom Elegante design. The smaller pieces of 2-3cts are hard to keep in stock when available.

Lower Prices On Some KEY Gemstones....
Some gemstones which appeared on the Published paged have been removed from this page and their prices have been lowered - In some cases, dramatically. Though still fine and unusual for many reasons, since the photo will not appear in a book or magazine (for the time being), the associated premium has been removed. Even those gemstones which have been published and seen around the world, are still at prices that one would expect to pay on a Retail level. Though higher than our norm, they are still very reasonable when compared to the quality, rarity and the fact they may respresent their species in a book or magazine!
